Grand Canyonero & Vegas

Hi all,

We have just about finished our trek across America and have now arrived in Los Angeles, here are some highlights of the last few states.

The scenery in this part of the country continues to amaze as we travelled through Monument Valley and on to the Grand Canyon. Reenacting the scene from Forrest Gump as he turns around from running to go home was fun, surprising for the odd passing motorist to see 54 Aussies running around the middle of the road though. Lana & I enjoyed a romantic sunset on the rim of the Grand Canyon... with 54 other Aussies alongside us. All in all though some pretty amazing views.

Arriving in Vegas we headed to the old strip of Fremont St to check out the seedier part of town, saw a 'plump' Elvis marry a couple from our tour, and won some cash on Blackjack! Next day we wandered around the casinos of the world, came to the conclusion that we no longer need to continue our round the world trip, having now seen Paris, (a much cleaner) Venice, Egypt, Rome and an incredible realistic New York all in the one day! We (Damien really) lost half of the previous nights winnings being greedy, which is still pretty good for Vegas, and we saw the Cirque du Soleil Beatles show Love, which was amazing!

We have now since said farewell to our tour pals and have ceased getting our kicks on Route 66, and embarked on our trip in Los Angeles, will post an update on that shortly.
